Chessington World of Adventures is set to become home to the world’s first Minecraft-themed hotel, as part of the new Minecraft World project opening in 2027.

Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios have announced that the new hotel will open alongside Minecraft World next year.

The hotel will feature nearly 70 Minecraft-themed rooms, an immersive restaurant and bar, and interactive elements, bringing the game’s distinctive biomes to life.

The hotel is part of the wider £50 million Minecraft World project, which will bring a range of new attractions, dining and retail experiences to Chessington.

A new Minecraft coaster

The project will also include Escape the Nether, which Merlin says will be the world’s first Minecraft rollercoaster.

Construction is already underway, with track now visible on the site. The coaster will feature both indoor and outdoor sections, taking riders through dark mines before emerging through a Nether Portal into the outdoor Minecraft World area.

Minecraft World is scheduled to open at Chessington World of Adventures in 2027.
