Today, Universal Studios Orlando have announced the return of their Horror Make-Up Show, after the show’s previous incarnation closed earlier in May this year.

Renamed to ‘Universal Horror Make-Up Show featuring Blumhouse’, it’s clear the show will feature nods to the film production company on its return. In what capacity, though, it so far unconfirmed – with no dates announced, yet, either. The park had previously said the show would return in winter 2026.

Universal and Blumhouse share a long-running partnership, and this isn’t the first time Blumhouse has featured at the parks, with films and properties starring in Hallowen Horror Nights mazes over the years. With Blumhouse being such a key player in the horror genre, their involvement in more horror shows and events at the parks feels like a no-brainer.

As an opening-day attraction for Universal Studios back in 1990, the Horror Make-Up Show has been through several reincarnations. The premise, though, has always stayed the same: a live showcase of how make-up and special effects artists craft horror scenes.
